ESOL International Qualifications

BELT is designed for candidates preparing for higher education or professional employment in the UK or abroad. The ESOL International qualifications are based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and have been mapped to the levels in the National Qualifications Framework for England, Wales, and Northern Ireland.

Entry Requirements

There are no prerequisites for taking BELT, including prior knowledge or qualifications in English. However, LRN recommends thorough preparation before attempting the test. LRN-approved centers ensure candidates are well-prepared with fully trained teachers and appropriate resources.

Progression

BELT accommodates various backgrounds, education levels, and career goals. Depending on the qualification level achieved, candidates may progress to:

• A higher level of any ESOL International qualification

• A key skills or functional skills qualification

• Vocational qualifications

• Access to Higher Education

Language of Assessment

LRN strives to use plain, clear, unbiased, and universally appropriate English. The assessment materials, stimuli, and the assessment itself are conducted in English.
